The Theatre Museum was founded in 1912 by a private circle of theatre enthusiasts. In 1922 it moved into the old Court Theatre, ever since it has been open to the public. The museum collection has grown considerably over the years; in addition the museum registers all possible documentation on professional theatre in Denmark.
